In early May, PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk (BTPN) invited its fellow journalists to observe activities of BTPN Branch in Jalan Sam Ratulangi, Manado. In this Media Kitchen Tour event, the fellow journalists had the chance to see in person the Daya program  which is routinely held by BTPN Purna Bakti for its pensioner customers.

On this occasion, BTPN invited its pensioner customers to learn a cake and Manadonese food business. The training was directly facilitated by Maimuna Nicolaas (64 years of old), a BTPN Purna Bakti customer who has successfully pioneered a pastry business in her retirement age.

“As part of the Daya Program, we also invite external parties, such as wheat producers, aquaculture entrepreneurs and also our customers, to provide training,” said Irradiatie Pierenika, Regional Governance Head of BTPN’s Eastern Indonesia Region. She believes that inviting fellow pensioners as facilitators, will be more effective to transmit the spirit of entrepreneurship.

Besides enjoying some of Maimuna’s delicious pastries, the journalists had the opportunities to tour the BTPN Manado Branch and observing various services that BTPN offers to its pensioner customers, including the retirement fund disbursement process and health counseling. They also met with Groups of Pensioner Customers (Ikapena) of BTPN Manado to exchange ideas about the pensioners’ activities in BTPN.

With more than 58 years of experience in serving pensioners, BTPN truly understands that besides the simple and quick financial services, pensioners also need other requirements to live healthy and prosperous. BTPN provides Daya program which is a measured and sustainable empowerment program that consists of three program pillars namely Daya Sehat Sejahtera, Daya Tumbuh Usaha and Daya Tumbuh Komunitas.
